Winchester’s M855 ammunition will serve you like a champ at the shooting range, but its penetrator bullets are also poised to help you defend your castle! This round’s 62 grain bullet looks just like any other FMJ on the outside, but with one exception: Its tip is painted green. That’s the sign that its lead core contains a seven-grain steel penetrator tip, which enables the bullet to reliably pierce sheet metal and other durable barriers at close-to-medium range. This is magnetic ammo! Many ranges won’t let you bring it on their premises, as a bullet which contains steel poses a higher risk of damaging range equipment. The heavier 62 grain bullet is most accurate when fired from a 1:9” or 1:8” twist barrel, but if your AR-15’s barrel has a 1:7” twist then you’ll still enjoy firing this ammo.
